This is their main location! They have a second location in the area as well. Yong Kang Beef Noodle is quite famous among foreigners and has been around for a long time (since 1963 according to one of their signs).
Their beef noodle comes in spicy or clear broth. The clear broth only has one option, and it doesn’t include tendon. The spicy broth has a couple more options between the different meat/tendon combinations.
I can’t handle spicy, so I opted for the clear broth. It was pretty delicious! My friend, who can handle more spice than I can, ordered the spicy with combination of meat and tendon, and said that it was good.
The restaurant has appetizers and side dishes you can order, but we were both pretty stuffed already from snacking on street food, so we just stuck to simple bowls of some good ol’ beef noodle soup. I included the picture of a pot of pickled vegetables just because of how much I love these pickled vegetables and how happy I was when I saw that they had an entire tub.
While these dishes were good, I wouldn’t dare say that it’s the best I’ve ever had. That’s quite a large claim to make, especially about Taiwan’s famous beef noodle soup.
If you’re hunting for the best beef noodle in Taipei, definitely put this on your list!
If you’re hungry for some other food in the area, check out the street foods or the original Din Tai Fung!
